I hope everyone had a very Merry Christmas and spent the day with family, friends, or a special someone. Val's family had an early Christmas and invited me to spend it with her family. It was lovely. Christmas day, I conned Val into helping me paint my house. Hah! Thanks Val! I've been working on Mobiles recently. I finished 3. One was for my Pops' grandson, Avery, the other one will go online for sale, and the other one was a Hoodoo Voodoo Dream Catcher I made for Val for Christmas. Here are some photos...

Mobile for Avery. Paper Sail Boats and Clouds.

Shabby Chic Mobile. Paper Sail Boats, Silk Flowers, and White Birds. (This one will go online for sale)

Hoodoo Voodoo Dream Catcher Mobile for Val. Feathers, Alligator Teeth, Beads, Felt Heart, Chicken foot made from Sclupey.

Have a Happy New Year everyone! Looking forward to it and some new projects coming up.

Until next time...

Yours,

Pesha

Been working on some new items. Here are the beginnings of a Shabby Chic Baby Mobile.  I just started this the day before yesterday. It just needs to have all the components attached. Also, my Pops has commissioned me to make a little baby boy mobile for his grandson Avery. I'll post progress pictures when I get started on it. Here are a few of the one I have been working on.

Big dove. Made from lace from an old dress.

Small dove. Made from the same material.

Silk flower made by Valeri Kimbro. I'm attaching about 3 of these to the mobile.

White washed tree branches to suspend the objects from.

Sail boat. Made from a cereal box, lace, buttons, and a paper and lace sail.

Sail boat 2.

Sail boat 3.

Pops also commissioned me to make a small bouquet of paper flowers for his Mom's neighbor.

Until next time...

 Pesha

It's been awhile since I lasted posted. I keep saying I'm going to be more consistent, but I never am. Since my last blog post I've been to Philadelphia and back. It was nice to be out of Colorado a bit and meet some new people and see new places. Right when I got back it was time to work again! I had to quickly finish 2 more large owls for an upcoming art gallery showing and the opening was this past Friday the 7th. There were a ton of other amazing artists showing their work as well. So many people showed up. It was wonderful. Also, my friend Val has been cracking the whip and forced me to finish 3 paintings this past weekend. I just wanted to nap....hah! It feels good to get some things accomplished. Here are some photos.

The Pirate Owl and the Mayor Owl were part of the show.

The Aviator Owl, Gothic Owl, and Hobo Owl were part of the show too.

These were the series of paintings I was working on this past weekend. Pop art Pinup. Just need to finish one more and then onto the next project.

Thank you to everyone who showed up to the opening! If anyone missed it you can still catch it the 14th, 21st, and 28th of this month at the Modbo/S.P.Q.R.

The opening at Safron went well, it seems I haven't really posted a whole lot since I mentioned it. Valeri killed it and sold quite a few pieces! I am messing around with some new ideas and new mediums of art. Here are a few pictures.

Little mice! Their arms and legs are bendable. I am in the process of making a short little animated film with them :)

I'm in the process of finishing these and then turning them into limited addition prints.

The last blog post I did showed the beginnings of this painting but I got mad at it, threw it outside, splashed water on it, scratched out the eyes, and then I liked it again. This is going to be part of a series I am working on as well. More details to come...

Until next time...

Since I posted last...I royally fucked up the painting of my friend I was working on. I'm working on salvaging it. Here is what it looked like before I decided to ruin it...

Good news though....I sold my first painting! This one is going to it's new home later today.

Along with it being the first painting I've sold, it's also the first painting I've finished in about 6 years. It is 2 feet by 4 feet.

Working on  another painting at the moment. Still trying to figure out my style...

Until next time...

Haven't updated in a week or so because I have been busy and things are just going to get busier! The pirate owl is finished and his name is Jacopo :) Thanks Mike Sakas! One of my lil nugget owls will be residing in Bangkok soon!

Jacopo is already at the store, Safron in Manitou Springs if anyone wants to go and visit him. He is being sold for $250.00. If you buy one from me directly they are $150. I am happy they are being displayed in such a lovely store.

Safron: http://www.facebook.com/safronofmanitousprings

Also, I , along with the talented Valeri Kimbro, will be Safron's featured artists next month. They will be having their Friday art walk on October the 19th. I will have about 10 owls displayed there.

Here are couple of photos of the owl I am currently working on:

I'll post some photos of the Aviator Owl I'm working on as well soon.

Until next time...

My new Pirate Owl is almost done. He now has his wire legs put in and he has a foot sculpted and a wooden peg leg. He just needs some pants now and a name. I am holding a contest for whomever comes up with the best name. The winner of the best name will get an online coupon for $5 off a lil' nugget owl on my etsy.com shop: http://www.etsy.com/shop/creepypretty
(Normally $25). I will make the lil' nugget owl fit your personality and favorite colors too!

Here are some more progress photos of the pirate owl.

He now has buttons on his jacket and a lovely red colored head scarf.

That's his stuffing hanging out. His foot isn't painted yet either. My Pops helped me make the wooden peg leg.

This photo shows scale. He is a little bit taller than your average wine bottle.  I drink only the best. (hah, yeah right)

Even though Thorvald is a gentleman and an Owl of high stature, he is humble enough to be friends with all, even a Pirate.

This is the type of owl I will custom make for you if you win the coupon for $5 off the lil' nugget owl. (Made to order and will not be the exact one shown in photo. Size is 3 and a half inches tall.)

Until next time...

Here he is...

Thorvald now has his legs and some pants. He just needs a few finishing details and then he is done!

. All of my owls are completely hand sewn. No machines. Thorvald's eyes, feet and nose are all made out of Sculpy and then painted and varnished.

Here are some more owl bodies cut out and ready to be sewn together. Five more to go...

I'll keep updating with more progress photos.

Until next time.

Alright, so here is what I've been working on. I haven't been updating much since I am adjusting to a new schedule and have been at quite a few modeling gigs.

I am sitting for an amazing painter by the name of Cecilia Thorell DeVore for about 2 and a half hours three days a week. I think she is a doll and so is her husband and new baby girl. Her husband is also a very talented painter. He did this charcoal/chalk drawing of me.

Drawing by Michael Devore.

This is another nugget owl I made today. I gave this one to Cecilia as a gift.

I was asked by a friend of mine to make some owls for his gallery. I have to make 5 of them. Here is one. His name is Thorvald. All he needs are his feet and a few detail pieces and he will be finished. I'll post more progress photos as I continue to make more. Also, I will give more details about the gallery show when I receive them :)

Back to work! Until next time...

I have, once again, taken a long hiatus from updating my blog. I finally have internet at my home now so, I am hoping to become more regular. Also, I've just been super busy. I've been inspired to paint along with working on some other projects. Here are some photos.

Collaboration  piece Val and I are working on.

Doe I painted.

Fox I painted.

Self portrait. Work in progress.

Finished piece. I haven't painted in about 6 years and just took it up again after sitting for a few painting classes as a model. My hand in this painting is off...among other things. I'm still learning.

I'm also a very messy painter. This is what my left arm looks like when I'm finished.

Until next time,

xo
